چکیده

This paper presents a low voltage wideband downconversion mixer using current-mode approach for multi-standard receivers. The proposed mixer uses a current mirror amplifier with an embedded passive switching core to achieve mixing function, which can combine the advantages of active and passive mixers simultaneously. The mixer is implemented using a 0.18μm CMOS technology and covers frequency band from 0.5 GHz to 4.0 GHz. A comparison with conventional CMOS down-conversion mixer shows that this currentmode mixer has advantages of large conversion gain, low noise figure and high linearity. Over the entire bandwidth, the mixer features a measured power conversion gain of 8.9 ∼ 9.6 dB, a double-sideband (DSB) noise figure of 6.9 ∼ 9.3 dB and an input third-order intercept point (IIP3) of 2.0 ∼ 5.8 dBm, while consuming 8mA from a 1.2 V supply voltage. The mixer occupies the active area of 0.43× 0.46mm2 including testing pads.

Design and Analysis of UWB Down-Conversion Mixer with Linearization Techniques

Frequency translation which converts the original signal to a much lower baseband frequency signal is a vital role in the RF receiver design. In this work, a high linear down-conversion Gilbert cell mixer at 100MHz is designed using TSMC 0.18μm RF CMOS process. Linearity is an important performance measure in RF circuits particularly in mixer design. In this paper, the two types of linearizatio...

A Low-noise Uwb Cmos Mixer Using Current Bleeding and Resonant Inductor Techniques

This article presents a direct down-conversion mixer for ultra-wideband systems on 0.18 m RF CMOS process. The proposed mixer uses a current bleeding technique and an internal resonant inductor to improve the conversion gain and noise figure of the conventional Gilbert-cell mixer. Effects of each technique are compared on mixer’s noise performance. Measured results show the conversion gain of 7...
